ALFA describes the experience of working in assisted living as follows:
Every day. We make a difference. Thousands of us coming together in senior living communities across the country each day to make a difference in the lives of seniors we serve. The difference? Smiles and laughter. Hugs and praise. Encouragement and assistance. Dignity and respect.
The senior living profession stretches far and wide. Caregivers join with handymen; nurses partner with chefs. Managers, office coordinators and sales people collaborate. Together, they form a community. A community – both literally and philosophically – brought together by values and beliefs embracing freedom of choice, independence, dignity, respect and quality of life for seniors and their families.
ALFA’s member-driven programs promote business and operational excellence through national conferences, research, publications and executive networks. AFLA works to influence public policy by advocating for informed choice, quality care, and accessibility for all Americans.
